CMYK vs RG

 CMYK vs. RGB.
1. CMYk what? RG huh? - Let’s start with the acronym, CMYK. It stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. Yes, K stands for key or black. These are the major colors dealt with in the print process. CMYK is also referred to as process color or four color. RGB stands for Red, Green and Blue.
2. Which one should I use? - CMYK is the standard for all print work. RGB is mainly used in web and video graphics production. Photos are in RGB, but need to be converted into CMYK before being inserted into print work.
3. Setting up your file - In Adobe Illustrator, choose File > New, then choose CMYK or RGB before creating your file. You may also change your mode at any point while designing. Just choose File > Document Color Mode. In Adobe Photoshop, choose File > New, choose Color Mode. Again, you may change color modes in Photoshop by choosing Image > Mode, then choose CMYK or RGB.
